Kyra Sedgwick

  

Kyra Minturn (born August 19th 1965) was an American actress who was also a producer and director. She won an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in TNT's crime drama The Closer. In addition to her starring role, she also had an recurring role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine.



 



 Sedgwick received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Other film roles she has played include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007), The Possession (2012) and The Edge of Seventeen (2016).
